laurelhurst residence

portland, oregon  this historic house overlooks portland’s laurelhurst park. built in the 1920s, the home required extensive renovation and an addition of an intimate library and office space. in collaboration with the owner and respecting existing house details and period architecture, the new design adapted existing spaces to a contemporary arrangement of living. the remodel revamped the heart of the house - the kitchen and congregating areas - providing more casual family communal space and opening onto the backyard for entertaining and interactive uses.
